11 months

Hawkins,

You are changing so much and growing every day. I can literally seeing you grow before my eyes. You look like a little boy now and not a baby. I cannot believe in one month you will be one year old! You are such a big boy. The best way to describe you is to say you are the busiest, sweetest, most fun little boy. You are always smiling and happy. You love people and will wave and look at everyone. You are always moving and getting into something. I don't know why we buy any real toys b/c you love "non-toys" the best.

This month we celebrating your Daddy's 30th birthday and stayed at home for a few weekends. Then we took another long trip to the mountains and we are staying here with Honey for awhile!

Here are all the fun things you are doing at 11 months:

-We took you to get your first haircut! You have beautiful blonde thick hair.

-You starting dancing (aka bouncing up and down) and it is SO cute! You stand up on your table and bounce to the music.

-You love your walker and can push and pull it with no help.

-You love to take things out and put them back in - my purse is a favorite, but we have done this with laundry baskets, bowls, your firetruck seat, etc.

-You have started pointing at things when you want something. You put your arm out and grunt when you see something you want. This is usually sunglasses and hats - your favorites!

-You must be really smart because you just started picking up the remote control and point it at the TV and put the phone to your ear. It is the cutest thing! It is amazing at the things children learn at such a young age.

-Busy does not even begin to describe you. Taking care of you is a full time job! You are literally never still. Even in your sleep you move around all night.

-You perfected your pincer grasp and can pick up bites of food and put them in your mouth.

-You love goldfish, puffs and peach yogurt melts. You are very slow to eat table food, but we are making some progress. You love real bananas and peaches mashed up. We have recently tried mashed potatoes and tater tots and you love those!

-You still take ALOT of formula - 7 oz in the morning, 3 oz before morning nap, 6 oz at 11am, 3 oz before afternoon nap, 6 oz at 3:30pm and 8 oz at bedtime. And you love your baba. I think weaning you from the bottle might be TOUGH!

-You have started drinking really well from your sippy cup. I gave you apple juice for the first time (diluted with water). You didn't love it and I am not a huge fan of juice. I think we will just stick with water, b/c you love it.

-Your Honey got you a small table and chairs in the mountains and you love to climb on the chair. I can tell when you get bigger you will love to climb on furniture!

-I have to mention that you LOVE your Big Daddy. I know I have said it before, but I want to remember how cute this stage is. Hawkins obviously loves his Daddy too :) I think he is just a man's man. If my Dad comes in the room he squirms and wants him to hold him and won't go to anyone else. My Dad will always walk him around outside or get on the floor and play with him. It is SO sweet.

-We have worked on your sleeping and napping and are doing pretty good! You nap from 9:30am-11am and at 2 or 2:30pm for about an hour. You sleep great at night from 7:30pm to around 6:30 or 7am. If you wake up at night we know you are sick or cutting a tooth b/c you typically sleep all night without a peep! I am VERY thankful for this!

-For a few weeks, you decided you don't want to take an afternoon nap and reduced it to 30 minutes (I think this was due to sickness and teeth), but now you are back to an hour or sometimes longer.

-Your 2 top front teeth came in a couple of weeks ago and now the 2 to the side of them are starting to come in too! This has made you pretty fussy, but you are still sweet :)

-You are in a size 4 diaper and 9 and 12 month clothes.

Here is a picture of you with your Mommy, Aunt Nina and your Honey during 4th of July weekend.
Our whole family
We love you Hawkins and are so proud of you!

He is so precious Frances, so adorable. I love reading about what he is doing because MK is barely 4 weeks ahead of him and is doing the exact same things. It's crazy how they develop so similarly sometimes. Congrats on making progress with the naps. MK wakes up at 6am on the dot every day so those naps save my sanity! Have a great summer!
