This week

In list form:

~I am 28 weeks pregnant and feeling pretty good.  I have a HUGE belly and can't imagine it growing for another 11 weeks.  Yikes.

~I try to walk on the treadmill 4x times a week for about 30 minutes.  It makes me feel better about doing all the eating and snacking I am doing :)

~Hawkins has been doing a breathing treatment for the past 10 days for a bad cough and the boy does not like it!  Only his Daddy or Big Daddy can convince him to leave the mask on for longer than 30 seconds.  Many M&Ms have been used for bribery.

~My boy has had a rough few months as school...first he got scratched this summer by his teacher and STILL has a scar on his chin.  Mommy is really not happy about that.  Then he got bitten for the 2nd time this week by a classmate.  Poor fellow.  He better learn how to fight back!  Then he hit himself in the eye with a toy truck and now has a black eye...just in time for his 2 year pictures on Sunday, yippee!

~(Knock on wood) he is doing much better sleeping and falling asleep.  We went through a rough 6 week patch, but thankfully he is doing less crying and less crawling out of his crib and more sleeping through the night!  Now I just have to decide when to move him to the dreaded "big boy bed" before his little brother arrives...

~I am sooooo ready for cooler weather.  Fall is probably my favorite time of year.  I love the pumpkins and crisp fall air - hurry up and get here!

~I am really starting to get things together for the baby and it is surreal that another human will enter our family in a matter of months.  I have somehow found Hawkins newborn clothes and even bought the baby some new ones of his own.  They are so tiny and precious it makes me melt.

~On that note, I am really nervous about going from one to two children.  Am I the only Mom who feels this way?  I know my love will multiply and not divide, so I'm not worried about that.  It's just going to be tough for Hawkins to have to share his Mommy with someone else.  I have a feeling it might not go over so well with him.  He is in a major Mommy  phase and will only let me do everything for him.  I don't know how I will be the one to change his clothes, put him to bed, feed him AND take care of a newborn.  It's not that I don't have helping hands - he just wants ME to do everything!

~Our family of 3 went to Atlanta last weekend to spend time together and do fun stuff like go to the zoo!  More pics later...

~I crave lemonade, Oh's cereal and cinnamon teddy grahams right now.  Oh the joys of pregnancy!

Hawkins turns two!

Hawkins, you are TWO years old!

Where has the time gone? I feel like just yesterday I was bringing you home from the hospital and watching you sit in your bouncy seat. Now you are saying sentences and the whole alphabet?! Wow. You are talking non-stop now and repeating EVERYTHING we say. You are saying 4 word phrases now.

You HAVE to sleep with your "May-May" (blue little giraffe blanket) and your "Monk-me" (monkey that Daddy brought you from his trip to Costa Rica).  You have started sucking on your May-May (gross).

Cute phrases you are saying now:  "Mommy hold him", "No school day or "No bubbles day" for no swimming today.

- You can say the alphabet all by yourself!  The only letters you leave out are LMNOP (for some reason).  You are so smart!

-You are the definition of a little boy that loves to be outside, climb, get dirty, run and jump.

-You sleep from 8 or 8:30pm until around 7am and take one nap at 1 or 1:30pm usually for 1 - 1.5 hours.  You have been very hard to put to sleep for the past month and waking in the night and screaming for some reason - I hope this stops SOON!

-You wear 24 month or 2T clothes and a size 6 diaper.    You wear a size 6 shoe.

-You love to say the blessing before every meal.  If I forget you remind me!  You will fold your hands and close your eyes and say "besting"

-You are still the pickiest eater ever, BUT yesterday you ate apples and grapes!  That is a miracle!

-Breakfast:  Mickey Mouse yogurt, pumpkin bread, cinnamon bread or a blueberry muffin
Lunch:  grilled cheese and banana
Dinner:  chicken nuggets, fish sticks, bananas, and some other item like tator tots

-For snacks you love goldfish, pretzels, granola bars or cinnamon teddy grahams.  You love blue juice and orange juice.

-You drink a sippy cup of whole milk in the morning, afternoon, and night and a 1/2 a cup at nap time.

-You are saying to many words and phrases now I can't even write them all down.  You don't speak in real sentences, but you have mastered 3 and 4 word phrases and can definitely get your point across.

-You have a mind of your own and you know what you want and when you want it.  We have started Time-Out and it is working pretty well.  You know what it means and you will sit in the chair by yourself for 2 minutes when you misbehave.  We rarely spank anymore b/c this works much better.

-You love Thomas the Train and Elmo.  They are your favorites right now.

-You just took swimming lessons that taught you how to get to the side if you fall in the pool.  You can't swim, but you do GREAT in the water.  You can blow bubbles and get around by yourself with your water wings on.  You and Daddy have been swimming almost every night when he gets home and you love it.

-To say you are in a Mommy loving phase is the understatement of the year.  You seriously love me right now.  You only will let me put you to sleep, feed you, change you, etc.  Of course you still want to play with Daddy (and he gives you a bath), but otherwise you just want your Mommy :)

We are going through some major changes right now with moving, living with Honey and Big Daddy, turning 2, and having a baby brother.  There have been some hiccups along the way, but you still remain the sweetest little boy.  You have brought so much joy into our lives - I just couldn't imagine life without you!

Happy Birthday sweet boy!
