Albany

It's time this blog got a family life update!  Our family has been in such limbo for the past year you probably wonder where the heck we live.  We moved to Albany and have been in our new town for about 2 months now, and I could not be happier.

We quickly got settled into our house and put everything in it's place.  Living in boxes for a year will put some pep in your step when finally unpacking!  The house has SO much storage it's crazy.  It took me forever to figure out where I wanted to put everything.

Most importantly, I very quickly settled into life with 2 boys, being a housewife, getting into a routine, etc.  I was nervous about this b/c I had been living with my Mom for so long!  Everything has worked out perfectly.  I immediately met other Mothers who stay at home and want to have play dates - swimming, going to the park, lunches, etc.

I am at a great point where I think having 2 children is even easier than having 1!  Gasp!  Things are probably about to hit the fan and I'll be up all night when both of them tonight :)

Hawkins is pretty self sufficient and actually helps me do some things.  He sleeps in a big boy bed and is potty trained.  (tear, tear).  He has his share of temper tantrums and demands, but at least we can carry  on a conversation and boy can he make me laugh.

Gates is just the sweetest baby.  Go with the flow.  He will get really tired and cranky after he's been awake for 2 hours, but he will go to sleep in the car or stroller, so that makes it easy.  He usually takes 2 catnaps and one longer nap a day.  (He has been pretty fussy lately getting his first tooth, but I know my calm baby will be back soon!)

I don't feel chained to the house like I did when Hawkins was a baby.  Part of that was just fear b/c I was a new Mom.  Now I know we can go run errands and everyone will survive!  I have to take Hawkins to school and pick him up most days, so Gates is accustomed to being in the car seat.

It's not the easiest to travel with 2 babies, but I don't feel overwhelmed by it.  We went on the solo beach trip in April and if I can do that then I can do anything!  We are currently on another beach trip, but this time with my Mom and sister.  I do have to pack the entire house, but at least I have a suburban now!

Robbie and I knew all along that God had a plan for us and that we just needed to be patient and see what it was.  It was worth the wait and we are so happy now!

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
