Gates - 3 months

My big boy is 3 months old!

This poor little guy has had alot go on in his third month of life.  We discovered he has a bad case of reflux, and it has made him miserable. We already switched from Zantac to Prilosec and it has made a difference.  He still fights his bottles pretty bad, but he does seem much happier.  He also has some bad eczema on his face and had to get a prescription cream for it.

Last week he had to make a hospital visit to get an upper GI.  It actually wasn't that big of a deal, but just the thought of taking your baby to the hospital for a procedure is scary!  He did SO great and everything turned out good.  They just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with his esophagus or stomach that is causing the reflux.  They all looked good, so now we just have to keep trying to figure out what the problem is!

He also had his first ear infection :(  Probably due to all the fluids associated with the reflux.

After we got some of that cleared up he is a much happier little guy!

At 3 months Gates weighs 15 lbs 6 oz!  What a big boy!  (Hawkins only weighed 13 lbs at this age.)

He is quickly growing out of 3-6 month clothes!

He sleeps from 8:30 or 9pm until 4 or 5am, takes 4 oz and goes make to sleep until 7 or 8am.

I really think he could sleep all night without that feeding, but he has been so miserable from the reflux and had a cough so I just can't make him cry it out.  Hawkins was sleeping through the night by now, but he had to do some crying to get there :)

Sometimes Gates will wake up around 2am and I have to give him his paci a few times.  I hope this ends soon :)

Gates was only taking 30 minutes naps for the past 2 weeks, but I think that was due to the ear infection or the reflux.  Now that he is on medicine for both he is taking one to two hour naps in his crib.

He is smiling so much and loves attention and to be talked to.  If I coo at him he will coo right back and make noises back to me.

Oh, and he loves his paci and to suck on his fist!

He does really well when we take car trips.  (fingers crossed this lasts!)  We have gone to Albany for day trips and he is so laid back.  He either sleeps in the car or just sits there staring at himself in the mirror that is on the back of his seat.

Mommy is excited that he will have his own room in our NEW house soon!  We closed on the house and will do some bathroom renovations and then hopefully move in in the next month!

Gates you are such a sweet boy and we love you so much!
