16 weeks and Engagement parties!

I am behind posting my 16 week update! Time is continuing to fly by - it seems like yesterday we found out I was pregnant and now I am four months along! I cannot feel him/her move yet, but I can't wait. I hear it happens anywhere from 16 weeks - 20 weeks so hopefully soon. Here is my 16 week belly picture. Wow - it is GROWING!!

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length . Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too.

This weekend we traveled to Albany for several parties for Crisp and Katie. The weekend started out with a brunch and skeet shoot in Plains that Robbie and I helped host. This was followed Saturday night with a cocktail engagement party in Albany. Then to end the weekend Katie's college girlfriends hosted a kitchen shower for her. All the events were SO nice and we had such a fun time.

Robbie and I celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday by staying at the St. Regis. We both needed a little relaxation and we got it! This was also our "babymoon". We got in our room and went straight to work out - yes, we are old and consider working out part of a relaxing vacation :) Then I got a heavenly prenatal massage and Robbie went to the steam room. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the beautiful hotel. The rooms are amazing! We had dinner at Blueridge Grill and then had dessert and after dinner drinks/coffee with friends at the hotel. A perfect night for us b/c we were asleep before 11pm!

On Sunday our house was taken over by these precious puppies!

Are you my Daddy?

Lady could not figure out why she was no longer the smallest dog in the house...

I ended the weekend with a holiday on Monday and it was so much fun to have my parents in town. We had a great Valentine's Day!

Snow Day!

Atlanta (and most of the South) received a full blanket of snow last Friday. I was able to get off work a little early to enjoy the snow and take pictures of our pups playing in the snow. Lady thought it was candy and kept eating the snow all weekend! We ended up ordering in food and watching a movie by a warm fire with great friends down the street. I love snow!

Things I am loving in my 15th week

- Warm baths (but not too hot!)

- My bed under lots of covers

- Sitting by a warm fire

- Lots of carbs - chips, hummus, or anything mexican!

-Full fat chocolate Mayfield ice cream with colored sprinkles - JUST like what I had when I was a little girl at my grandmothers house :)
This may or may not be helping with my weight gain so far...

- Maternity pants and dresses - I like to be comfortable since I sit at work all day long.

- 6 o'clock when it is time to get off work and go home!

- Reading comments on my blog - Right under each post there is a link that says "comments". PLEASE click on it and leave a comment so I know who is reading!

Things I am missing so far:

-coffee, coffee, and MORE coffee!

-DIET COKE

-I haven't really missed alcohol, but I have wanted a glass of wine every now and then...

-Call me crazy, but I kind of miss jogging and being able to workout without thinking about if it's safe for the baby. I am not athletic by any stretch of the imagination, but I did love pilates and strength training.

*I just signed up for pregnancy fitness classes once a week, so I am excited to start them and know that is designed for my changing body!!

-I really really really miss sushi, cheese dip and feta cheese! Do you know how hard it is to eat at a mexican restaurent and pass up the cheese dip??! Super hard!

Ok, on to the baby...I still feel spectacular in my 15th week, and I am dying to feel my little baby kick. I hope it happens in the next few weeks! Baby Raybon is the size of an apple!

Here is the 15 week update:

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day! Robbie and I have a special weekend planed, but more on that next week!

Birthday Parties!

Last week we celebrated Beauregard AND Lady's birthdays! Beau turned 3 on January 31 and Lady turned 1 on February 2nd.

Daddy cooked them each a grilled chicken breast for dinner and their Aunt Virginia brought them Happy Birthday cookies for dessert.

The party would not have been complete with out party hats!!

Beau hated his hat!

Lady loved her hat and wore it all week!

Happy Birthday Lady and Beau!

14 weeks!

Today I am 14 weeks pregnant. I still feel great and have a little baby bump. Robbie says I am making up for not being sick by being emotional, but I say it all comes with the territory :) We are adjusting to alot of changes in our life and that coupled with pregnancy produces a few tears! Overall we are doing very well though!

I love getting to work (especially on such a gross day like today) and getting my weekly baby growth email! Enjoy and have a great weekend.

Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches -- about the size of a lemon -- and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

Nursery

I have been looking online and dreaming of our baby's nursery!

Here are my ideas so far:

1 - Crib

I definitely want this crib!!

It's the Jenny Lind Heartland crib in white - only $129 at Babies R Us!

2 - Crib mattress

I am still researching mattresses, but I like this one so far. It's organic and all natural.

3 - Crib bedding

I want to have custom crib bedding made for our nursery. Nothing too girly or too boyish, but I probably will use pink or blue if we find out the sex. Picking out this fabric will be my favorite part of the whole nursery process!

4 - Chair

We know what chair we want, but I do not know the name of it. We found it the weekend after we found out we were pregnant in Charleston! Then we saw it again in Atlanta and it's the best chair we have seen! It is at Baby Bloomers and I think the brand name is "Best"... It is one of those swivel/rockers with the ottoman.

We need to go look again and pick out a fabric. That chair will be used many nights in our nursery!

5 - Chest

I know I want some kind of antique chest of drawers to put in the nursery. I can picture it in my mind, but I have yet to find it. I really want a one of a kind piece. Will keep you updated...

6 - Changing table

I do not like the changing table that comes with the Jenny Lind crib. It got horrible reviews and looks unsturdy. I like the look of it though with open shelves underneath to put baskets. I think we will just go with a basic white table. Nothing too fancy.

7 - "other"

We will of course need a lamp or 2, a side table to go next to the chair, picture frames/artwork, etc. I think my nesting is kicking in because I can't wait to start buying this stuff for our little baby!

Maybe I will get some of it for my upcoming birthday - "wink wink". For those of you who are curious, my birthday is April 14th and I don't want a single thing for myself - just necessitates for the baby!

I still have lots of other ideas and will continue my "vision" for the nursery!
